The SiGMA Europe Gaming Awards announced the nominations for the best crypto casino, and the five operators in the race for the prestigious award are Stake, Roobet, Bets.io, CryptoLeo, and True Flip. The winner’s announcement will occur at the SiGMA Malta Summit, with the two awards nights scheduled for the 13th and 14th of November.

The voting ends on Monday, October 30, and the duty to elect the best-performing crypto operator for this year is entrusted to a jury and the public. Dozens of industry professionals compose the roster of judges, and the public was allowed to cast votes through the SiGMA website. The judges will have a bigger sway in the final decision, considering the jury provides 70% of the votes and 30% goes to the public.

The award is given to the most deserving crypto casino, meaning an operator offering more value to players through entertaining games, crypto payments, bonuses, and other features that advance the interactive gaming industry.

Professionals from the gambling industry were able to nominate a brand or project for any of the dozens of awards categories. The awards are subdivided into two branches, one covering business-to-business and one dedicated to business to customers. The shortlist of five nominations resulted in the above-mentioned candidates.

Sigma 2023 categories

Crypto Payment Providers Receive Nominations

Last year’s winner was BC.Game Casino and it’s worth mentioning that True Flip hoisted the award in 2021. Aside from the category of best crypto casino operator, blockchain technology is featured in the category of best crypto payment solution for 2023. The nominees in this category include Cryptopay, Bitso, Finrax, Global Unit Pay, and LetKnow Pay.

Cryptocurrencies are still a niche payment method in the online casino industry, but are experiencing growth. Latest statistics indicate that crypto gamblers place daily bets worth $3 million, accounting for 4% of all bets made per day. Nearly 60% of crypto wagers are made in Bitcoin, and the other tokens preferred by bettors are Ethereum and Litecoin. Industry experts projected crypto gambling to achieve a value of $93 billion by the end of 2023. As the online casino industry continues to grow, a surge in crypto adoption will be a trend.

The Importance of SiGMA Europe Summit

This year’s SiGMA summit will be held in Valletta, Malta, from 13th to 17th November. Apart from the two award nights, the itinerary includes multiple networking opportunities, such as eight sports side events, 35 dinners, and two cultural tours. Over 800 exhibitors, 25,000 delegates, and  250 speakers will attend the glitzy event.

Participants will discuss technologies and initiatives that can affect the future of the iGaming sector. A charitable auction is part of the summit, and the proceeds will fund various projects organized by the SiGMA Foundation.

Crypto gambling is in its infancy, and events such as the SiGMA summit can encourage further development and acceptance of cryptocurrencies as an integral part of the online casino industry.
