Playing poker with Litecoin: Know the basics

Litecoin, launched in 2011 by former Google engineer Charlie Lee, is known for its speed and efficiency. Unlike Bitcoin, which takes around 10 minutes to generate a block, Litecoin produces blocks every 2.5 minutes. This faster block generation means quicker transaction confirmations, which is a game-changer when you're playing poker online.

When you're playing poker with Litecoin, you’re benefiting from the lower transaction fees and faster processing times that Litecoin offers. On average, the transaction fee for withdrawing Litecoin is around $0.00042, which is basically nothing.

Great, but why is Litecoin a suitable coin for online poker?

Well, it all comes down to how easy it is to play poker with Litecoin. The gameplay itself is not really affected by the coin you use. This means that playing Bitcoin poker, for example, is similar to using Litecoin, but only in terms of gameplay.

The real difference is seen in everything else, basically. Litecoin allows faster deposits and withdrawals compared to BTC, smaller fees, high security, and the same level of anonymity as Bitcoin or Ethereum. The best part is that this coin is also popular in many online casinos, so there’s no need to worry about its availability.

Top of the class Litecoin poker sites of 2024

Finding the right poker site that accepts Litecoin can make all the difference in your gaming experience. I made sure to check quite a lot of online casinos, and I found that these sites offer the best poker gaming.

Stake casino is definitely my go-to place when I want to enjoy some quality poker with Litecoin. One of the things that really sets Stake apart is its dedicated "Stake Poker" section, where I found over 70 different poker games.

The ability to filter by game type and status makes it easy for me to jump into exactly the kind of game I’m in the mood for. So, whether it’s a quick round of Texas Hold’em or Pot Limit Omaha, I can easily tune in and place some bets.

When it comes to security, Stake doesn’t cut corners. With SSL encryption technology in place, I feel confident that my data is safe while I’m playing. Plus, the whole platform is intuitive and easy to navigate. If I ever want to change my coin, I can just click at the top and start playing DOGE poker, for example.

Betplay is a Litecoin poker site that’s quickly becoming one of my favorites. Why? Well, for starters, Betplay has a dedicated poker platform that supports Litecoin wagering. Here, you can buy as many chips as you want and play on tables that ensure a real casino experience. At the time of writing, I found 5 poker cash games, all Texas Hold’em.

When it comes to poker tournaments, Betplay offers a solid selection with tags like Freeroll, Guaranteed, Bounty, and Reentries. I’ve found everything from classic Texas Hold’em to some exciting variations that keep the gameplay fresh.

The site’s user-friendly interface makes it easy to navigate between games, and I appreciate that I can manage my Litecoin funds directly from the poker table. Security is also a top priority at Betplay, with strong SSL encryption that protects my transactions and personal data.

Bitcoin Casino is one of my top picks for playing live poker with Litecoin. The site offers a solid variety of poker games, but what really stands out is its live dealer section. The live poker games let you play against real dealers in real time and against other players as well. There are 10 live poker games here, and they are all steamed in HD quality.

Using Litecoin for deposits and withdrawals at Bitcoin Casino is quick and easy, so I can jump into my favorite poker games without any delay. Plus, Bitcasino has a special cashback bonus that goes up to $25.000. Now that I’m certain that the casino will give 25% of my losses back, I can continue betting and calling other people’s bluffs.

With over 100 poker games available, there’s no shortage of options at Cloudbet, and the best part is that top-tier providers like Evolution, Play’n GO, and One Touch power these games. The quality and variety of the poker games here are truly impressive.

While Cloudbet doesn’t have a dedicated poker category like Stake, finding my favorite games was still a breeze. All I had to do was type “poker” into the search bar, and I could easily filter the results by game provider, special features, and more. This made it convenient for me to zero in on specific titles, like the popular Caribbean Poker by Betsoft.

Another highlight of Cloudbet comes in the form of its attractive bonuses, especially for cryptocurrency users. The welcome package is designed for each coin separately. So, I can opt for the Litecoin welcome bonus and get a 100% deposit increase of up to 50LTC.

Which casino offers the best Litecoin live poker?

When it comes to playing live poker with Litecoin, two casinos stand out: Bitcasino and Betplay.

Bitcasino is a top contender for the best Litecoin live poker experience. The platform is known for its sleek design and 10 live dealer poker games. I’ve found that Bitcasino’s live poker tables offer a smooth, immersive experience, thanks to their high-quality streaming and professional dealers.

Plus, the 100% deposit increase in a welcome bonus and 25% cashback surely make everything even better.

On the other hand, Betplay is also an excellent choice for live poker with Litecoin. What I love about Betplay is the dedicated section where you can find tournaments and cash games. The platform offers a solid lineup of live poker games, where the action is always intense.

Plus, the user-friendly interface makes it easy to navigate through different poker tables, and the seamless integration of Litecoin adds to the overall convenience.

Top poker games you can play using Litecoin

When it comes to playing poker with Litecoin, the variety of games available is impressive. Whether you’re into classic Texas Hold’em, Omaha, or want to try your hand at more niche poker variants, you can. Most Litecoin casinos have a pretty huge selection of poker games.

From what I’ve seen, here are the most popular poker games you can play with Litecoin:

Upward pointing graph

Texas Hold’em

When I sit down to play Texas Hold’em with Litecoin, I know I’m in for some really nice time. In this classic poker variant, each player, including myself, is dealt two hole cards to start. The game begins with two players posting the small and big blinds, and then the first betting round kicks off.

At this point, all I can see are my two hole cards, and in Extreme Texas Hold’em, I can raise up to the value of my entire stack. I’ll use this game as an example.

As the game progresses, the dealer lays down the first three community cards, known as the flop. This is where strategy starts to play a huge role. After another round of betting, we get the fourth community card, the turn, and then the fifth and final card, the river.

With all five community cards on the table, I use my hole cards in combination with the community cards to try and make the best five-card hand possible. Once the final bets are placed, it’s time for the showdown, where we all reveal our hands to see who takes the pot.

Upward pointing graph

Omaha

Omaha is where I step up my poker game. Unlike Texas Hold’em, where I get two hole cards, in Omaha, I start with four. This instantly makes the game more intricate and strategic. The pot limit betting structure also keeps things interesting since the size of the pot is the most I can bet at any time.

Just like in Texas Hold’em, the game flows through the same betting rounds.

However, there’s a catch: I must always use exactly two of my hole cards and three of the community cards to make my hand. This rule makes selecting a starting hand a bit trickier, which is what makes Omaha so exciting. Every hand feels like a new puzzle to solve, and using Litecoin makes jumping into these games quick and easy.

Upward pointing graph

Caribbean Poker

The Caribbean Poker game starts with the dealer shuffling a standard deck of 52 cards right in front of us. Before any cards are dealt, I place my bet in the "ANTE" box, and if I’m feeling lucky, I’ll also place a bonus bet.

Once the bets are in, the dealer announces, "No more bets!" and starts dealing five cards to each of us, including themselves. The twist? The dealer flips their last card face up, giving us a little hint of what they might have.

After the deal, I carefully check my hand to decide my next move - whether to fold, raise, or even buy another card to improve my chances. If I decide to buy a card, I throw away the one I don’t need and pay an additional amount to get a new one.

The tension builds as the dealer collects any discarded cards, deals replacements, and then finally reveals their hand. I played Caribbean Poker on Cloudbet and managed to beat the dealer with two pairs, Kings and fours.

Upward pointing graph

Three Card Poker

Three Card Poker is where I get to test my skills with just three cards against the dealer. The game starts with me placing an ante bet, and if I’m feeling optimistic, I might also place an optional pair plus wager.

Once the bets are down, the dealer deals three cards face down to me and to themselves. After I peek at my hand, I decide whether to fold or continue playing by placing an additional bet equal to my ante wager.

If I fold, I lose my ante and pairs plus a wager if I made one, but if I decide to play, the excitement builds as we reveal the cards. If the dealer’s hand is Jack-high or worse, I get my play wager back, but if the dealer has Queen-high or better, it’s game on.

Pros & cons of playing Litecoin poker

As with any casino game, Litecoin blackjack or Litecoin roulette, for example, Litecoin poker also has its advantages and potential drawbacks. Let’s see them:

Pros
Cons
Faster transactions
Volatility
Increased privacy
Learning curve
Access to exclusive games
Faster fame setup
