Black Chip Poker Casino Review: Thoroughly Expert-Tested

Our rating
Black Chip Poker (BCP) is part of the Winning Poker Network (WPN), a collection of online poker sites that share a central platform, allowing players from different sites to compete against each other. The network launched in 2001 and has made it possible for members to share prize pools, traffic, software, licenses, and promotions.
On the other hand, the network has in fact faced its fair share of controversy, including claims of collusion between players from BCP and America’s Cardroom (ACR).
ACR is the other leading name on the network, so expect to see a lot of references and comparisons to it in this Black Chip Poker review.
Let’s kick this off!
Quick facts
Games
Here’s what I found while testing for this Black Chip Poker casino review:
Feature | Information |
---|---|
Average RTP | 96% |
Popular Games | Poker tournaments |
Expert’s Pick | Poker cash tables, poker tournaments |
Demo Available | No |
The crowning games here are naturally poker, although there is also a token presence of slots, live dealer, and table games. As soon as I registered and verified my email, I had to download the software in order to start playing poker. The download process was fast and I was up and running in under two minutes.
The poker lobby opened up as a separate app on my desktop. Design is plain and functional as befits a professional poker room. The game menu showcases the different types of poker tables available, with a link to casino games on the right. When I clicked on ‘Casino’, I was taken back to the browser site.

Poker cash games
I counted four ongoing cash games to suit all bankrolls, with another six tables that were closed. Stakes started from $0.01/$0.02, going up to $50/$100 and beyond.
Hold’em and Omaha are the most popular formats, with options like bomb pots and all-in-or-fold games adding variety to the action. The chips represent actual money and you can leave the table at any time.

Blitz poker
This is WPN’s fast-fold cash game format that speeds up play by instantly moving players to a new table after they fold, eliminating the wait for the next hand. While not the most popular option on Black Chip, Blitz tables are available for Hold’em and Omaha at various stakes, ranging from $0.10/$0.25 to $5/$10.

Tournaments
This is where I found non-stop action, with a wide variety of games that I could filter by date, buy-in, prize pool, format, and more. Buy-ins are reasonably flexible, and include a few free rolls.
There are also abundant medium and high-roller options, with something available for every bankroll and skill level.

Staking
This section offered me the option to seek financial backing, or to back other players. You should only venture here if you know your way around a poker table. I am not a pro player, so it took me a few minutes to understand the process. That said, detailed information is readily available if you have the patience to go through it.

Jackpots
These are fast-paced, three-player tournaments where the prize pool is randomly determined. Buy-ins typically range from $5 to $50, and prize pools can vary from double the buy-in to as much as a whopping $1 million.

Sit & Go
Sit & Go (SNG) games are fast-paced poker tournaments available on demand, with a variety of formats including Hold’em, Omaha, Hi/Lo, and satellite options.
Most games are six or nine player max with buy-ins typically ranging from $5.50 to $33. However, I found a few tables starting as low as $0.11.

The Beast
This is Black Chip Poker’s most popular weekly leaderboard, accumulating points for every cash game played (one point for every $0.02 in rake). The weekly races run from Saturday at midnight (EST) to Friday at 11:59pm. Payouts take place every Monday in the form of cash or tournament entries

Slots
There are more than 400 slots available. However I had never heard of any of these titles. The RTPs are indicated at an average of 96%, I couldn’t find anything about whether these are in fact audited to deliver on this promise. Popular titles include the hilariously named Galina Race and 9 Tailed Fortune.

Live dealer
I counted 11 games hosted by Visionary iGaming, a Costa Rican developer that operates without a license. The games are a mix of blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and Super 6. Two Blackjack Early Payout tables have a 99.5% payout advertised, which I find suspicious.
Stakes on the majority of tables start at $5 and go up to between $100 and $2,500, so there isn’t much flexibility either for low-rollers or high.

Table games
There are 13 table games that appear to be created in-house and are limited to regular roulette, blackjack, baccarat, and craps. Buy-ins start at $5 and the maximum isn’t indicated, so it’s a matter of keying in whatever you like and seeing whether it sticks. There’s also no indication as to whether the games are provably fair or not.
Software
Besides the in-house poker software, the casino side of things showcases a grand total of four software providers:
If you’re here for the poker, you’ll love it
This casino is about poker, and offers the right variety of tables and tournaments to back this. If you’re a poker beginner there are plenty of low stake and casual tables. Ditto if you’re a pro or a high-roller.
My only complaint is that you actually need to download the software, which I don’t like. However, players who are active on poker networks like Americas Cardroom know that this is 100% expected for reasons of platform stability and security.
The casino side of things sucks, there’s no two ways about it. It’s more of a token nod in that direction, than a genuine attempt to pull in that audience. This is understandable, as the profile of a poker player is entirely different from that of a slots lover.
Cryptos
Here’s all you need to know about the Black Chip Poker crypto options. The site accepts five currencies, focusing on the most popular coins and two stable coins.
Crypto options are way too few
I was quite disappointed with the Black Chip Poker crypto payment options. Five cryptos is not exactly a vast choice. If you enjoy using emerging coins like Solana, you’re left out in the cold. For some perspective, BC.Game accepts 130+ cryptos. Now there’s a site that appreciates the meaning of ‘vast choice’.
Deposits and withdrawals
Here’s what I found while carrying out my Black Chip Poker crypto review:
Feature | Info |
---|---|
Deposit time | Instant |
Withdrawal time | 72 hours - 15 days |
Withdrawal fee | Depends on the blockchain |
Transaction process | Smooth |
Deposits are credited instantly without the need of waiting for blockchain confirmations. While testing for this Black Chip Poker crypto review I deposited the equivalent of $10 in BTC, and a small pop up informed me I could deposit up to the equivalent of $25,000.
Withdrawals start from $50 and you can cashout up to $25,000 at one go. However, you’ll need to wait at least 72 hours before this is processed and the funds can take up to 15 days to actually reach your account.
Withdrawal takes too long
The minimum deposit requirement is very low-roller friendly, and I approve. The minimum cashout, not so much. Which brings me to my Black Chip Poker withdrawal review. Give me one good reason to make me wait 15 days for a crypto cashout, when the blockchain carries out these transfers in minutes.
This is clearly a WPN issue, because even Americas Cardroom takes 15 days to deliver funds. I prefer sites like Bitstarz, which don’t faff around with my cash and deliver it instantly.
Bonuses
Here are all the offers available at Black Chip Poker:
Feature | Info |
---|---|
Welcome Bonus | Up to $2,000 |
Wagering Requirements | N/A |
VIP Rewards Availability | Rakeback |
Bonus Code | BLITZ on reload |
Other Bonuses Available | Rakeback, seasonal reloads, ongoing tournaments |
The welcome deposit here is a 100% match up to $2,000, to be used on poker games only. It’s only available if you’re not already registered on the sister site ACR, and you’ll need to deposit at least $25 to be eligible.
The offer doesn’t work in the regular way we usually find at other crypto casinos. You won’t find the money added to your account immediately. Instead, $1 will be added with every 27.5 Award Points earned. You have 60 days to earn your free cash, otherwise you’ll lose it.
How do you earn Award Points, I hear you ask. These are given out every time you pay rake or fees:
Game type | Earning method |
---|---|
Tournaments | 5.5 Award Points per $1 in fees |
Poker Tables | 5.5 Award Points per contributed $1 |
The site also offers a reload of 50% up to $500. You’ll need to use Black Chip Poker promo code BLITZ. You can claim this bonus as soon as you deposit another $25, even if you’re still working your way through the first offer. In this case you have 30 days to redeem your money (read, spend more).
However, it’s the Black Chip Poker rakeback rewards that are really popular with players here. If you’re new to poker, the rake is a small fee that the poker site or casino takes from each real-money pot, usually in cash games or as a portion of tournament fees. It’s essentially how the site makes money.
To start earning rakeback you’ll need to climb your way through the Elite loyalty program. The higher tiers give you up to 27% rakeback to your account.
Interesting structure, but I prefer regular bonus cash up front
This type of bonus is familiar to poker players, but if you’re more habitually playing slots like I am you’re probably second-guessing it. For starters, $25 is way too high a minimum for eligibility. I also found it annoying that if I’m an ACR player, I can’t claim a bonus here.
Secondly, when I work out the maths behind the Award Points, it turns out that (assuming I deposited the minimum of $25) I need to spend $125 to claim my full 100% match while playing poker games.
Curious how I reached that figure? I earn 5.5 Award Points for every dollar I spend, and I need 27.5 points to unlock $1 of bonus cash. That means that I need to spend $5 to earn 27.5 points (27.5 divided by 5.5). So $5 of spending earns me $1 in bonus. If I want to match the entire $25, I need to spend $125 ($5 × 25). Not quite the 100% match that’s promised.
Not sure how I feel about this math thing honestly.
App
Here’s what to expect from the Black Chip Poker app:
Feature | Information |
---|---|
Mobile Access | Download |
Mobile Browser Experience | Very smooth |
Ease of Navigation | Very easy |
Loading Speed | Extremely fast |
Helpful Tools | Top menu, clean design |
Device compatibility
Top mobile performance
The software is top-notch and it has been created specifically for the needs of online poker gaming. I used the app on a computer, an iPhone, and a OnePlus. The download took seconds in each case, and I was mid-poker game in no time. Stellar performance all-round.
Security
Here’s what I discovered during this Black Chip Poker review:
Feature | Information |
---|---|
Licenses | Curaçao eGaming |
Auditing | N/A |
SSL Encryption | Yes |
Responsible Gaming Tools | Self-exclusion |
KYC | Upon withdrawal |
Is Black Chip Poker legal?
The site is licensed in Curaçao and it operates 100% legally, but I found no information as to whether any of its games are audited.
The app offers the same SSL encryption as an internet browser. However, it operates in a sandbox environment, like all such apps. This means that it’s isolated from the rest of the network and is not vulnerable to malicious code attacks. In other words, your personal and financial data are safe.
The site requires a KYC process upon withdrawal. You’ll be asked to provide identity verification, which can take up to 72 hours to complete.
Responsible Gambling
I only found one responsible gambling tool while testing for this Black Chip Poker crypto casino review, self-exclusion. This can be temporary or permanent, and you’ll need to request it by email.
Common complaints
Rather strangely, there’s no BCP profile on Trustpilot, although there’s a WPN profile with almost no activity. However, Reddit is swarming with complaints about collusion between BCP poker players and those on America’s Cardroom.
The complaints sound pretty legit, so much so that both sites recently launched an anti-collusion feature to make the games more fair and to stop players from reshuffling folded cards back into the deck mid-hand. Here’s how it works:
- Hole cards are dealt one at a time, only when it’s the player’s turn.
- Folded cards are immediately returned to the deck and can be redealt.
- Pre-action buttons like ‘fold’ or ‘call’ are disabled.
It’s still too early to see whether the software has succeeded in its mission, but I’ll keep you updated.
Player collusion still an issue, appreciate the attempt to solve it
While the site itself is legit and operates to a solid standard, I can’t leave a 100% secure Black Chip Poker crypto casino review. The cause of the complaints in this case are players, rather than the site itself. So this is truly a case of a few ruining it for the rest of us.
Sadly, even if it’s not the site’s fault, reality is that it can still ruin your gaming experience. That said, BCP and ACR are clearly taking steps to address this.
Support
Here’s how to access customer support:
Feature | Information |
---|---|
Live Chat | 24/7 Virtual Assistant |
[email protected] | |
FAQs | Informative |
Support
Languages supported
There’s a live chat widget available 24/7, but there’s no human support. As soon as I launched the window, the virtual assistant gave me menu options that covers everything — bonuses, deposits, withdrawals, bonuses and poker tables. All I had to do was make my choice and I had all the information at my finger tips.
These pages double up as super-detailed FAQs. I went through them all and it took me a good couple of hours, but it gave me a good overview of what to expect. I also found an email address buried deep in the T&Cs, but though I sent in a question I never received a reply.
Good AI assistant, but lack of human support agent a red flag
I’ll start honestly stating that I didn’t actually need any help understanding anything. I got all the information I needed from the virtual assistant, and it was easy to understand.
That said, unexpected issues can arise and I don’t like that I won’t find any human support. The email address clearly isn’t very efficient. I understand the need to scratch out simple requests with a virtual assistant but there should always be a human option.
Final verdict
I’ve got a mixed bag here for this Black Chip Poker review. I’m aware that the site is super popular with poker players. But this doesn’t mean that there’s no room for improvement.
The plus side is that this is a very well-oiled poker machine that poker pros will love, but that also offers beginners the chance to enjoy the game. And there’s no denying the efficiency of the software. I would advise you to exercise caution, especially if you’re not a seasoned player.
That said, a lower minimum withdrawal, a faster cashout process, human customer support, fairer bonus terms, and a stronger guarantee of game fairness, as well as auditing all offer room for improvement.
