Intro to Bitcoin Cash poker

Poker is a game of skill, strategy, and a bit of luck. While some players are all about the numbers, others get into the psychology of their opponents.

But before you start dreaming of that grand prize, it’s important to know the basics of poker and how Bitcoin Cash (BCH) poker works.

In order to bring this closer to you, I’ll examine the most popular poker game worldwide - Texas Hold’em.

Getting started - buying In

Before you can sit down at a Texas Hold’em table, you need to buy in. This means you’ll need a certain amount of BCH coins to join the game. The buy-in will vary depending on whether you're playing a cash game or a tournament (which I’ll explain later). Just remember, your buy-in is your ticket to the action.

Let the dealer deal

Once the blinds are posted, the game begins. In Texas Hold’em, there are two types of blinds:

  • Small blind
  • Big blind

For instance, in a game with blinds of $1/$2, the small blind is $1, and the big blind is $2.

These mandatory bets rotate around the table, ensuring everyone has to post them at some point. After the blinds are set, each player is dealt two hole cards that are for their eyes only.

Pre-flop betting

Pre-flop betting

With everyone holding their cards, it’s time to bet. This is known as the pre-flop betting round. There are three betting systems you might encounter:

  • Limit: The amount you can bet or raise is limited to the size of the blinds.
  • Pot Limit: The amount you can bet or raise is limited to the size of the pot.
  • No Limit: There are no limits on the amount you can bet or raise.

At most poker sites I recommend, No Limit games are the most popular. Betting starts with the player to the left of the big blind, who can call (match the big blind), raise (increase the bet), or fold (give up their hand).

The action continues clockwise until everyone has either folded or matched the last highest bet.

Poker Hands

Flop betting

Once the pre-flop betting round is complete, we move to the flop. This is where three community cards are dealt face up in the center of the table. These cards are known as community cards because all players can use them in combination with their hole cards to create a hand.

The betting action begins with the player immediately to the left of the dealer (the “button”) and continues clockwise. If a player bets or raises and no one matches it (everyone else folds), they win the hand by default without needing to show their cards.

Turn Betting

Turn betting

Next is the turn, which introduces a fourth community card to the table. If two or more players remain after the flop, this card is dealt, and the same betting rules apply. Betting continues until the last highest bet is matched or only one player is left.

Poker Buy In

River betting

Finally, we reach the river, where the fifth and final community card is dealt. Again, if two or more players are still in the game, the same betting rules apply as before. Players will continue betting until the last highest bet is matched or only one player remains.

Showdown

Showdown

If you make it to the river with two or more players still in the game, it's time for the showdown! Here, everyone reveals their cards. Players will combine their hole cards with the community cards to create a five-card hand.

The best hand wins the pot based on poker hand rankings. If two or more players have hands of equal rank, the pot is split evenly among them.

With a fantastic reputation, Americas Cardroom is known for fast payouts, including free Bitcoin Cash (BCH) withdrawals, a huge variety of poker games, and lots of tournaments. This platform focuses on live poker games, and therefore, I could enjoy facing real people at the table. When I did this review, there were over 50 live tables available for play.

For new players, the offerings are sweet. I was thrilled to find a 100% first deposit bonus of up to $2,000 waiting for me. On top of that, I gained access to a $250 freeroll and a scratch card worth up to $50 for the first 20 days after signing up. With these great incentives, Americas Cardroom is definitely a top choice for anyone looking to play poker with Bitcoin Cash!

Finally, being part of the Winning Poker Network gives Americas Cardroom a solid foundation. It’s reassuring to know they’re backed by respected companies like Bookmaker and Betcris, especially since they've been in the game since 2011.

Established in 2017, Stake really knows how to create a gambling platform that stands out among other Bitcoin Cash poker sites. What I love about Stake is the unique category: Stake Poker. I found over 70 games here, and the option to filter by the game type and status is amazing.

As for security, Stake features SSL encryption technology that guards my data. I really appreciate that Stake prioritizes security, fairness, and anonymity, making me feel safe while I play.

But what really made an impression on me is the ability to easily deposit and withdraw funds. Making deposits with BCH is done in 4 steps; it took me less than a minute to do so. Plus, Stake has very low fees for withdrawals and the minimum withdrawal amount is also convenient. For BCH, the minimum withdrawal is 0.00628903, and the fee is 0.00004000 BCD = $0.000003 - literally nothing.

When it comes to poker and Bitcoin Cash, BC.Game is where the action's at! With a lineup of 42 poker games available in both the "Table Games" and "Live Casino" sections, there’s plenty to keep you entertained. These games come from well-known providers like Evolution, Ezugi, and Play’n GO.

But it’s not just about the games; BC.Game goes the extra mile with its amazing welcome bonus. You can score up to 220,000 BCD across your first four deposits. The BCD is a unique gaming currency from BC.Game, and overall, this bonus equals to $220.000.

With audits conducted by iTech Labs and a Curacao license, I’m certain to game with peace of mind, knowing that security and fairness are top priorities at BC.Game - probably the best Bitcoin Cash poker site that originally focuses on other casino games like BCH blackjack.

Cloudbet, a platform for all casino games, is definitely one of the best Bitcoin Cash poker sites. There are over 100 poker games you can play here. Best part? These games are hosted by top-notch providers like Evolution, Play’n GO, One Touch, etc.

Since Cloudbet does not feature a special category for poker games like Stake, I had to search for these games manually. But it was quite easy - I only needed to type ‘’poker’’ in the search bar, and I could filter by providers, special features, and everything in between. It’s super convenient for players looking to play a certain title, like Oasis Poker by Betsoft, for example.

Cloudbet also offers attractive bonuses, such as its generous welcome package that’s specially made for BCH deposits. You can get your first deposit increased by 100% up to 75 BCH - now that’s an offer I’d like to use to play poker games.

Which Bitcoin Cash poker app is the best?

Without any doubt, Americas Cardroom has the best app for playing poker. This poker casino specially designed an app that’s tailored for poker players, not regular casino games like BCH slots or BCH dice games.

Downloading and installing the app takes only a couple of minutes. You can learn all about it by reading the full Americas Cardroom review.

As for the functionality and features, the ACR poker app is flawless. You can jump from one poker room to another, search for live tournaments, claim bonuses, and enjoy HD live-streamed games.

What kind of bonuses do Bitcoin Cash poker sites offer?

When I’m exploring new Bitcoin Cash poker sites, one of the things I love most is discovering the range of online poker promotions available. There are plenty of enticing bonuses to claim.

Some casinos do not strictly offer bonuses related to BCH; they actually have a convertible bonus that you can claim with a BCH deposit. With such bonuses, I can also play Litecoin poker or even Binance poker.
